FAQ

What are artificial finger nails?

A tip is applied to your natural nail, which forms the basis for gel and adhesive. Under this layer, your natural nails can continue to grow completely normally.

What is ‘French’ and what does ‘Nail Art’ mean?

A French manicure emphasizes the tips of the nails in white or, if you wish, in a different colour.
Nail Art refers to the adornment of your nails with different motifs, piercings, Swarowski gems and so on. There are many different options.

Can artificial nails damage your real nails?

Not at all! The materials used for artificial finger names aren’t harmful and have been used in dentistry for decades. If your real nails have the required length then they can be strengthened with gel and adhesive.

How long does a nail design session take?

Depending on the work required, plan around two hours 30 minutes for the first session. Since the amount of time depends on various different factors, you may need less time than this.

Can the artificial nails affect my real nails?

As long as you’re using a well-trained nail designer then the answer is No! After the nail design session, we’ll discuss how to proceed with a care programme for your real nails and hands, to ensure that your real nails are not damaged in any way.

What do I need to consider BEFORE a nail modelling session?

Don’t moisturise your hands and nails from around 12 hours prior to the session. Hand and nail care is important, however, before nail modelling you shouldn’t moisturise to ensure that the artificial nails are well fixed.
Also avoid excessive contact with water, because the nails can become saturated with water, which can also inhibit the adhesive.

What do I need to consider AFTER a nail modelling session?

To ensure that your artificial nails last, and continues to look good, you must apply nail oil, moisturiser stick and hand cream to your nails and cuticles daily. Apply nail oil to the cuticles and to the underside of the nails daily to keep them flexible – this is essential to make the nail modelling last!
In my studio, we’ll gladly recommend the care products that suit your skin type. Don’t just follow these tips for artificial nails, also use them for your natural nails. A little effort will yield impressive results and you’ll enjoy your nails for much longer.

• Use only acetone-free nail polish remover, since acetone attacks the surface of the nail and might strip the artificial nail from your real nail.
• Wear gloves for house and garden work, especially when working with abrasive cleaning products.
• Be aware of situations and articles that might cause ‘accidents’ such as car doors, zips, drink cans, keyboards, etc. All these can break or tear your nails.
• Never cut your cuticles. The cuticle protects your whole nail; cutting it might cause injust or infection.
• Never cut the modelled nails with scissors or nail clippers. To shorten your nails, always use the special file, which you’ll be given during your first visit to the studio.

And finally:

To give your nails stability and keep them looking beautiful, they need to be refilled every three to four weeks.
